Livestock is the bread and butter of the land, huge losses from fires for
Residents leaving with livestock

For those living in the countryside, livestock is equivalent to bread and butter. Those affected by the fires are trying to save what they can. Effective plans, cows and donkeys.

" I have 30 cows, 110 cattle and 2 pack animals. I have one in the village," says a resident.

But not everyone was able to get the "living thing" out of the huts.

"We left everything there. With cows and cattle. Where can we put them...”

The flames spread through pastures and huts, burning everything. The losses are considerable.

"Arson and widespread fires are destroying pastures and endangering the survival of livestock, affecting every family that depends on this asset," said Abdulla Diku, an environmental expert.

The damages are sometimes direct and sometimes transmitted as a chain effect.

"The fires are not only destroying forests and pastures, but also our rivers and water sources. Many wells and canals were burned, filled with ash and mud, and now we have very little water for animals and for domestic use. Without water, cows and livestock suffer, and our livelihoods are threatened every day ," the expert says.

And given that a state of national emergency has not been declared, none of them can claim compensation.

"Declaring a state of emergency is a formal step, but without concrete measures to compensate for the damages, rural families remain unprotected. Livestock, pastures and water sources have been destroyed, and without effective compensation, the economic and social impact of the fires becomes unbearable for local communities ," said Abdulla Diku.

The flames don’t just take away the trees and livestock – they take with them the peace and security of rural communities. Every burned hut, every destroyed well and every lost animal is a story that cannot be easily recovered. Without investment, without compensation and without protective measures, nature and man continue a dangerous game where the real loser is the village, which for every fire must fight for survival on its own. / A2
