The freeze-thaw game with the police...

For the second time this year, news broke that the Saranda Police Force had been dissolved. The first time, the director "dissolved" it, for an illegal construction. This time, the minister "dissolved" it, after a murder.

Only Saranda has experienced the same scene twice within a year: the police are declared a failure, disbanded, reorganized, new leaders are appointed and everything is presented as a new beginning. Previously, Himara, Vlora and a number of other police stations and directorates saw the same fate.

People watch in joy as the police melt before their eyes, not out of their own pleasure but for their own pleasure.

I have a simple, but very serious question. Not for the gossipers who live off sensational news, but for anyone who demands that the police be a fair institution. What message is being given to people with this "freeze-write" game?

Are they telling them that the police they had were not meant to be? That the institution that was supposed to guarantee order, security, and law has in fact been so degraded that it should be completely dismantled?

Hey!

But if that's the case, then the problem is much bigger than a police chief or a few officers. Because a police officer doesn't fail overnight. He is led, controlled, and supervised every day by his hierarchy.

On the other hand, if this is not the case, then these "meltdowns" are simply administrative spectacle. A way to produce headlines, to create the idea of a strong reaction, and to give the impression that a revolution is taking place, while the system remains the same.

Why is order and security being maintained like this?! How can the public trust the police when its leaders don't trust it, but rather destroy it?!

You can't build public trust by telling them every few months that a city's police force is no longer effective and needs to be rebuilt. Why, who guaranteed security yesterday? Who guarantees it today?

Will the merger solve serious incidents?! Let's say the merger of the police is a scam, how much money does it make after the pilaf?! What does this mean that every time there is an incident, the answer is "I wrote" to the police?!

No, no, no! This logic doesn't work.

Serious institutions do not operate with a reset button. They operate with individual responsibility, investigation of violations, punishment of the guilty, and strengthening of the sound part of the structure.

It's not the institution's fault, but the people's. On the other hand, even the latter should be viewed carefully because they are neither oracles nor prophets who can accurately predict what will happen, but rather civil servants with known limits.

But blaming the police for themselves with this stale game of freezing them today, thawing them tomorrow, and rebuilding them the day after is a serious blunder. It may give you points on the populist terrain among those fed up with news, but normal people who don't eat populism continue to ask whether the police are a state institution or a decoration for press conferences.

A serious state cannot treat the police like ice cream that melts every time the political temperature changes or every time there are events. The latter have happened and will happen to a living society, regardless of the frozen or thawed police.

Now that we're back to Saranda, I don't know how the police were supposed to stop a revenge organized down to the smallest detail.

On the other hand, by announcing the merger, who is dealing with tracking down and capturing the perpetrators...!
