The Border Police in Muriqan have intensified controls over the past few hours, cracking down on two cases of criminal offenses related to drug trafficking and hiding money at the border.

The successive operations have led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of a significant amount of money, as well as a quantity of cannabis. In the first case, police services detained a 49-year-old man with Polish citizenship who was entering Albania.

During the physical and personal search, a total of 38,000 euros were found undeclared, divided into two parts between his clothes and his handbag. For this reason, criminal proceedings have been initiated against him for failure to declare monetary values ??at the border.

Meanwhile, at the exit of the Republic of Albania, officers have handcuffed two residents of Tirana, aged 42 and 32.

During a thorough search of the vehicle they were traveling in, police discovered eight hidden bags containing approximately 4.2 kilograms of cannabis.

According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that this quantity of drugs was purchased in Germany and was being transported by them.
