The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has sentenced Ilir Selman to 28 years in prison and Elvis Gaçaj to 7 years in prison, accused of murdering Santiago Malko on August 27, 2019 in the "Xhamllik" area in Tirana

SPAK had requested a sentence of 25 years in prison for Ilir Selmani, while GJKKO has added 3 more years, while Gaçaj has been sentenced to the same number of years in prison as requested by SPAK. Ilir Selmani is also known by the nickname "boxer".

The ex-policeman, Santiago Malko, was known as the right-hand man of the much-wanted justice, Ervis Martinaj, and was allegedly executed by members of the 'Duka' clan, who are known to be the biggest rivals of the gambling businessman who has been missing since months, since he was declared wanted as part of the "Golden Bullet" operation.

For the murder of Malko, known as a friend of Ervis Martinaj, SPAK accuses the Duka clan with the involvement of Leonard Duka, Erlis Duka, Oltian Loga, Aleksandër Maxhak, Fatmir Hysen (Musai), Dritan Agaj.

Fatmir Hyseni (Doqja) from Vlora, who is wanted, is suspected of being the executioner in Malko's murder. Meanwhile, the brothers of the Duka clan, Leonard and Erlis Duka, are accused as organizers.

Leonard Duka was arrested in February of this year in Belgium, as there is a security measure "arrest in prison" by the Special Court, while there is still no green light for his extradition.

Previously, for the murder of Santiago Malko, Blendi Teta was sentenced to 25 years in prison, who is suspected of having played the role of informer.
