After 21 hours of pursuit by the police, Lekë Vuksan, the 34-year-old suspected of being the killer of Petri Vuksan yesterday afternoon in Shkodër, was arrested.

The 34-year-old had taken refuge in the apartment of a citizen, on "Pjeter Budi" street, Shkodër, after he had threatened the owner of this apartment to open the door for him and not to report him to the police.

The police found and seized an automatic firearm, with which the 34-year-old is suspected of killing Petrit Vuksan.

The 51-year-old was shot dead at noon on Tuesday, in the city of Shkodra. The incident happened in the "Skenderbeg" neighborhood and the victim was alone at home when the suspected perpetrator, Leke Vuksani, entered the apartment and shot him, leaving him dead.

The cause of the incident between two people from Dukagjini, with the same last name but who are not related, is suspected to be a conflict over the rent of the apartment.

Petrit Vuksani, lived between Italy and Albania, and had returned to his hometown a month ago. He had rented the apartment in the "Skenderbeg" neighborhood to the person who allegedly took his life, Lekë Vuksan. He asked the author for several months' rent and to vacate the apartment, but the latter argued with him.

After the continuous conflict, Lekë Vuksani left the house, returning with a firearm. The suspected perpetrator entered the apartment and found the landlord alone, shooting him dead.


The police say that the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Shkodër, continues the work for the complete legal documentation of this case.
