Vangjel Tavo "dissolves" IMT, after they allowed a 4-story

The Mayor of Himara, Vangjel Tavo, is reported to have "dissolved" the Territory Protection Inspectorate.

This is due to the discovery of an unauthorized construction in Himara.

There is no official announcement yet, but this is the second time that Tavo has taken punitive measures against IMT.

Even a year ago, on June 9, 2025, Tavo suspended the director and employees of the Himara IMT, after a series of unauthorized constructions were identified in Dhërmi, Drimadhë, and Jalë.

In the same period, IKMT intervened on the ground by demolishing four buildings in Jalë and continuing the action with other buildings in Dhërmi.

In June 2025, Tavo's intervention was also accompanied by reports of proceedings regarding suspicions of abuse of office by employees of the structure.
