The High Prosecution Council meets today to decide on the fate of the mandate of the president of this institution, Alfred Balla, after the Special Appeals Panel decided to remove him from the justice system for a period of 15 years. The meeting starts at 11:00 and will take place in the Council meeting room.
For the holding of the meeting, a quorum of 7 members must be met, while representatives from the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, will also be present.
Balla continues to be in office, while on May 21, the KPA decided to exclude him from the justice system for 15 years. This decision of the KPA is final.
Balla attacked the decision of the KPA as "shameful" and interpreted that the decision had nothing to do with his current status in the KLP, while warning that he will appeal to the Strasbourg Court.
"This is not a dismissal decision, as no administrative investigation has been conducted against me. Based on this decision, in the future I cannot run for certain seats, of course, until the ECtHR pronounces itself", Balla wrote.
