A hearing was held today after noon to determine the security measure against 5 people arrested on Monday evening in the village of Gjashtë, Saranda, with two pistol firearms.
Appearing before Judge Mexhit Doço were 26-year-old Alfred Kaja and 33-year-old Sidorel Moriseni, suspected of "unlicensed possession of weapons," as well as 21-year-old Vitrin Hoxha, 22-year-old Franko Bobja, and 31-year-old Vionis Poka, suspected of "failing to report a crime."
The first two were caught by the police in possession of two pistol firearms, one of which had a silencer, while the other three accompanied them.
Although it was initially suspected that they might have committed a criminal act, these suspicions were dropped after the police found neither masks, nor gloves, nor fuel on them, while the vehicles they were driving had regular documentation and license plates. Their testimonies before the investigation group, as well as before the court, were far from suspicions of committing murder.
Sources indicate that the 5 young men, who do not have any significant criminal record, but may be drug users, may be involved in a firearms sale. The young men are mainly residents of villages in Tirana and Rrogozhina such as Shkozë, Rreth Greth, Kazie, etc.
After evaluating the arrest in flagrante delicto, judge Mexhit Doçi assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" for Alfred Kaja and Sidorel Moriseni, as well as "House arrest" for Vitrin Hoxha, Franko Bobja and Vionis Poka.
