Arrested for the large fire on Kruja Mountain, Tirana Prosecution releases
Fire on Kruja Mountain

A 74-year-old man arrested a few days ago as a suspect in the fire that swept through Kruja Mountain and endangered several neighborhoods of the city, has been released by order of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecution has deemed the arrest of the 74-year-old illegal, arguing that up to this stage of the investigation there is no evidence implicating him in the arson.

According to the Prosecution, the detention of the 74-year-old was also carried out without informing the prosecuting authority.

From the investigations conducted so far, it appears that when police officers arrived in the area, they found the 74-year-old man attempting to put out the flames.

In the testimony given to the blue uniforms, the elderly man denied being the person who caused the fire.

The prosecution emphasizes that the data collected up to this stage is unclear and contradictory. The prosecution's material also states that the 74-year-old has cooperated with the authorities during the investigation process.

However, despite his release, investigations into the causes and perpetrators of the fire on Kruja Mountain continue.
