AMP publishes July balance: 11 arrested, 8 of them police officers

The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has published its activity report for July 2026. According to AMP, 11 people have been arrested. Eight of them are police officers.

During July, the AMP referred 54 cases to the Prosecutor's Office for the initiation of investigations against 54 Police employees. 15 of them are first-level management employees, while 39 are enforcement-level employees.

The criminal offenses referred to are mainly related to abuse of office, arbitrary actions, other intentional damage, intimidation, and violations of traffic rules.

Of the 54 cases referred, 14 are related to abuse of office and involve 15 subjects. 25 cases are related to arbitrary actions, other intentional harm and threats.

Meanwhile, 5 cases are related to violations of road traffic rules, against 5 subjects and one citizen.

111 complaints handled

During the month of July, AMP handled 111 complaints.

Of these, 15 were assessed as well-founded, 62 as unfounded and 32 cases were not proven. In 2 cases, criminal files were opened.

Additionally, AMP has administered 160 administrative complaints.

420 calls from citizens

During July, 420 calls were recorded on the citizen communication line.

253 of them were within the scope of AMP's activity. 104 calls were outside the scope of the Agency, while in 63 cases citizens were provided with information.

Disciplinary proceedings against Police employees

The AMP Disciplinary Committee has also made decisions on disciplinary proceedings.

A disciplinary investigation has been initiated for 6 police officers for serious violations.

An investigation was decided not to be initiated for one employee, as the violation was not proven.

Meanwhile, for 26 police officers and 2 Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) employees, the Commission continues to review the documentation.

3 inspections during July

During the month of July, AMP conducted 3 inspections.

One of them was planned, while the other two were unplanned.

According to the AMP, the inspections aimed to verify the activities of the Agency's structures.

The balance sheet reflects the AMP's activity during the month of July, including investigations, disciplinary proceedings, handling complaints, and communication with citizens.
