The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has suspended from duty the entire chain of command of the Himara Police Commissariat, who were on duty during the period when a 5-story building was built without a permit in Qeparo, Himara.
Preliminary verifications show that the construction of the facility began in December 2025 and that the Himara Police Commissariat did not take measures to prevent the construction and hold the citizen who was carrying out the construction legally responsible.
NOTICE
Following the measures taken to identify and crack down on unauthorized construction, as well as to hold responsible persons accountable, the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police, by order of the General Director of the State Police, has immediately suspended four Police employees from duty, specifically:
- Deputy Commissioner FM, former Head of the Himara Police Station, currently Head of the Illicit Trafficking Section at the Vlora Police Department;
- Commissioner EP, former Head of Section and Specialist in the Section for the Investigation of Mass Crimes, at the Himara Police Station, currently Head of Section and Specialist in the Section for the Investigation of Mass Crimes, at the Divjaka Police Station;
- Deputy Commissioner of Police, former Crime Investigation Specialist, Police Zone No. 1, currently Crime Investigation Specialist at the Vlora Police Station;
- Inspector R. Ç., with the duty of Assistant/SPZ Specialist, Police Zone No. 1, at the Himara Police Station, the area in which the unauthorized construction was found.
Their immediate suspension and the initiation of a disciplinary investigation were carried out after, in a place called "Sugë", Qeparo, Himarë, it was found that citizen LB, a resident of Laç, had built a building with one underground floor and four floors above ground, without the permission of the competent authorities.
