Shocking in Greece: 41-year-old Albanian accused of raping his partner's 9-year-old daughter for several months

A 41-year-old Albanian man in Larisa, Greece, is accused of raping the 9-year-old daughter of his wife, also Albanian.

According to Greek media, the 41-year-old and his wife had moved from Tyrnavos to a village in Almyros and in the summer of 2023, the woman became pregnant and returned to Albania, entrusting the 9-year-old, who was the fruit of her first marriage, to her current husband.

What followed would be terrifying for the minor. Not only during the period of absence, but also after the mother's return, as well as in the spring of 2025 (specifically January-April), the stepfather forced the 9-year-old to sleep in the same bed with him and, threatening to hurt her relatives, allegedly raped the 9-year-old.

The 9-year-old did not tell her mother because she was afraid of her stepfather, as the documents state that he had threatened to kill her family members, especially her paternal grandmother and uncle.

The minor "felt afraid and did not disclose these actions to her mother," the documents further state.

The accused denies the charges and attributes the accusations to the minor's imagination. The case will be heard at the Larissa Criminal Court next October.
