Six people have been arrested by the Tirana Police in the framework of the police operation codenamed "Free road", after being accused of transporting smuggled goods.

The citizens were handcuffed:

- Edison Cani , 40 years old, resident in Tirana, administrator of a transport line;
- Altin Metani , 52 years old, resident in Tirana, administrator of a commercial entity;
- Dorjan Zguro, 31 years old, resident in Tirana, administrator of a commercial entity;
- Shkëlqim Mehmeti , 42 years old, resident in Tirana, administrator of a commercial entity;
- Zaljon Braho , 32 years old, resident in Tirana, billed on a transport line;
- Erald Lajmi , 22 years old, resident in Tirana, employee of a private post.

Citizens Xh. Were also prosecuted at large. Sh. and SM, employees of the customs point Morinë, Kukës, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty". The citizen SB, administrator of a private entity, has also been declared wanted.

Official sources suggest that in "Jordan Misja" street, in a parking lot, the Police services have ascertained the bus of the line Prishtina-Tirana and the citizens Altin Metani, Dorjan Zguro and Shkëlqim Mehmeti, who would receive the goods, suspected to have entered smuggling in Albania, from Morina customs.

During the control of the bus, in the luggage, the Police services found other goods, without fiscal stamp. Work is underway to identify and apprehend the persons who ordered them.

As material evidence, various suspected smuggled goods (clothing, medical drugs), a bus and three vehicles were seized.

Work continues to identify and apprehend other persons implicated in this criminal activity.

The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office of the Tirana Judicial District, for further procedural actions.
