Sentenced to 26 years for the murder of former police officer Santiago Malko, Ilir Selmani, who is currently under 'house arrest', was escorted today to the Special Appeal for the next session on the same matter.

The hearing has been postponed to July 7, and during this period Selmani will continue to remain under 'house arrest', a measure that was imposed after the detention period expired and the High Court returned him for retrial at the Appeals Court of Kosovo.

The hearing in the Appeal Court of the Criminal Court of Appeal was postponed after Ilir Selmani's lawyers had not prepared their conclusions, while the court accepted his request to change his residence due to the poor conditions where he is currently located.

Selmani has been found guilty by the GJKKO as part of the 'Duka' clan for the execution of Santiago Malko. On Monday evening, near his apartment, which is guarded by numerous police forces, Emiljano Nina, one of Ervis Martinaj's closest associates, was arrested at gunpoint. This episode led investigators to suspect that an assassination attempt was being attempted for revenge.
