The preliminary hearing for Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj began at 11:00 AM at the Special Court. For more than an hour, the hearing on the "Veliaj" file has continued with strong debates, while the mayor himself has been holding his own before Judge Etleva Deda.

This session takes place one day after the GJKKO rejected Veliaj's request to replace the security measure "prison arrest".

During the court session, Veliaj requested the disqualification of Judge Etleva Deda, claiming that he was not given the right to defend himself effectively.

Regarding Valentina Teodorescu's removal from the defense, the free state lawyer said that "she had not had time to meet Veliaj and that she has the legal power to defend him."

The lawyer primarily stated that the taxi had only waited for her for an hour at the Durrës Penitentiary, which according to her did not give her enough time to familiarize herself with the files. For this reason, she requested a postponement of the hearing, but the request was rejected by the Special Court.

Judge Etleva Deda has moved on to the final conclusions, considering the defense phase as exhausted. The preliminary hearing for the "Veliaj" file is still ongoing at the GJKKO.
