36-year-old  Egzon Qafleshi has been arrested in Durrës, as part of the police operation codenamed "License Plates".

During a search of his car, in neighborhood no. 5 of the city, the police found stolen license plates, owned by a citizen.

Meanwhile, the investigative actions revealed that the 36-year-old from Kosovo is the author of stealing license plates from two other vehicles.

He was found with screwdrivers, pliers, a knife, a pair of gloves, and a mask, which he used to commit the thefts.

It is suspected that Egzon Qafleshi sold the license plates to people with a history of committing crimes against persons and property.

He stole Albanian and Kosovo vehicle license plates in Durrës and is suspected of selling them to people with a history of committing crimes against persons and property. The suspected perpetrator is identified, captured and put in custody.

The 36-year-old from Kosovo is suspected of being the perpetrator of several cases of vehicle license plate theft.

Two pairs of license plates, Albanian and Kosovar, screwdrivers, pliers, a knife, a pair of gloves and a mask were seized.

The services of the Durrës Police Commissariat, following successive operations to uncover previously occurring thefts, based on information obtained through operational means, have finalized the police operation codenamed "License Plates".

As part of the operation, citizen EQ, 36 years old, from Kosovo, was arrested and handcuffed.

This citizen was caught red-handed in neighborhood no. 13, Plazh-Durrës, with a “Ford” type vehicle, with license plates stolen in neighborhood no. 5, Durrës, owned by citizen RC.

During the search of the "Ford" vehicle, two license plates from a vehicle from Kosovo were found in the trunk, and screwdrivers, pliers, a knife, a pair of gloves and a hood (similar to masks) were found in the driver's seat.

Tools that this citizen is suspected of using to commit thefts.

The above items were seized as material evidence.

Also, from the investigative actions it has resulted that this citizen is the author of the theft of license plates from two other vehicles, which occurred in recent months.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, work continues on the complete legal documentation of this citizen's criminal activity.

The materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for the criminal offenses of "Theft" and "Procuring means for theft".
