Babies in Kosovo and Albania aged 0-2 years old are fed powdered artificial milk loaded with the bacterium bacillus cerus, which is extremely dangerous as it causes gastrointestinal illness in infants.

Sources for Top Channel confirm that a total of 580 boxes of this dangerous milk have been sold in Albania. Such an alert shows that food safety in our country has serious problems that come not only from domestic products but also from imports.

The Cerus bacillus bacteria is found in 9 types of Nestle powdered milk that have an expiration date of 2027. The total amount of imported milk that poisons children is 1878, of which 744 boxes were consumed by babies in our country and Kosovo.

While the rest has been blocked and accumulated by business.

The milk with bacteria was produced by the Nestle company and in Albania this dangerous product was marketed by the Rossmann Lala business operator, which is located in several cities in Albania. The Nestle company itself issued the alert for this product, requesting the removal of this milk from the shelves of Rosman Lala stores.

Top Channel conducted an observation in the branches of this business in Tirana, in some of them the announcement was displayed in the product area.

"Nestle is withdrawing from sale, as a precautionary measure, several batches of BEBA formula milk, specifically: BEBA expert HA, BEBA expert Comfort+ and SE8A Supreme. This withdrawal is a precautionary measure due to the suspicion that one of the batches produced may have the presence of the microorganism Bacillus Cereos."

But this notice is not in every Rossmann Lala store, precisely it is missing from the 9-story branch where what appears to be this product has been removed from the shelf, but parents are not notified to stop feeding their children milk with bacteria that causes diarrhea and vomiting.

Another violation committed by the Rossmann Lala entity is the lack of product documentation that qualifies traceability, for which reason the AKU has imposed an administrative measure with a fine in the total value of 200 thousand new lek. While parents have been asked to return the product that puts the health of newborn babies at risk./ TCH
