A 53-year-old man has been arrested by Himara police after firing a pistol into the air.

According to police, the incident occurred after a conflict, the motives of which are unclear.

The firearm and its magazine were seized as material evidence.

Police announcement:

"The services of the Himara Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the services of the "Eagle" Special Force of the Tirana Police Department, immediately after receiving the notification that a gunshot had been fired in the village of Bunec, organized the work and finalized the operation codenamed "Bunec".  

As a result of the operation, citizen FL, 53 years old, resident of the village of Bunec, was arrested in flagrante delicto.  

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that the 53-year-old, after a conflict for weak motives with citizen MD, fired a pistol into the air.

"The pistol firearm and its magazine with cartridges were seized as material evidence," the police announced today.

The procedural materials were passed to the Vlora Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Threat" and "Disturbance of public peace".
