New details are emerging from the assassination that shocked Mirdita, where Viktor Bardhi was executed by gunfire in the village of Nderfushas.

Investigators are reconstructing the perpetrators' movements before and after the crime, while one of the investigation leads is related to an old blood feud.

It is suspected that, immediately after the assassination, the perpetrators used an underpass on "Rruga e Kombit" to leave the area.

It is precisely the proximity of this crossing to the scene of the incident that has made movements on this axis an important part of the investigation.

After reviewing security camera footage at the entrance and exit of Rrëshen, police were unable to identify the vehicle in which the perpetrators allegedly fled. The car was found burned about 20 minutes after the murder, in the village of Monaz.

Investigators suspect that burning the vehicle was part of a plan to hide. After abandoning the car, the perpetrators are believed to have gotten into another vehicle, where they may have been met by other people involved in the escape.

In this way, they were able to leave the area without leaving clear traces on security cameras.

The investigation has also returned to focus on the history of the bloody conflict between the Bardhi family and another tribe in the area. The clash dates back to 2016, after the murder of Saimir Jaku, and since then the toll has increased with nine more victims recorded by both sides.

Viktor Bardhi was no stranger to this story. In 2023, his brother, Martin Bardhi, was murdered in his bar in Mirdita, about a month after he had left prison. He had previously been charged with attempted murder against SR.

The murder saga touched the family again in January 2025, when Kristian Bardhi, alias Marku, Viktor Bardhi 's nephew , was executed on the Fier-Vlora axis. Neither the murder of Martin Bardhi nor that of Kristian Bardhi has yet been solved.

In connection with the latest assassination attempt, the police have escorted a person to the police station. Lezha Police Director Ermal Muça confirmed the escort yesterday, but so far it has not been announced whether the person had a role in the execution or what information he may have about the incident.

Investigations continue to identify the perpetrators, while police are also verifying the people who may have helped them leave the crime scene.
