SP and DP consensus on changes to the Regulation: The Head of SPAK no longer
DP/SP

Parliament returns to the tradition of approving the regulation by political consensus. After last week, the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party agreed on a joint text of the resolution on the country's European integration, the parties managed to find common ground between them on changes to the regulation.

In the agreement reached on Wednesday, on the eve of this Thursday's parliamentary session, the Socialists' proposals underwent changes in many of the points opposed by the opposition, from reporting by independent institutions, to voting in the ethics committee on exceptions, to closing sessions at 10:00 PM, while the parliamentary committees remain 11, unchanged.

Reporting by independent institutions to parliament has been one of the most debated points. The Socialists had proposed completely avoiding reporting in plenary sessions, limiting this only to parliamentary committees.

But during the negotiations, the parties agreed that the institutions that must make their annual balance sheet in the Assembly hall should be limited to only those for which the constitution expressly states that they must report in the session.

With this change, only the Ombudsman, the Prosecutor General, the Head of the High Prosecutorial Council, the Head of the High Judicial Council, the High Inspector of Justice and the Chairman of the High State Audit Office will have to be accountable in the parliament hall , and not other institutions, such as  SPAK.
