Two vendors were arrested, caught in the shops

Two vendors were prosecuted by police in the town of Pogradec and In Devoll, Korca, after fireworks and caps were found in their stores. The sale of fireworks has been banned since 2018.

Police announcement:

As a result of the increased controls in implementation of the plan of measures for ensuring order and security during the holiday period, 2 cases of sale of pyrotechnic materials are hit.

Criminal prosecutions are made by two citizens who sold fireworks and capsules in their shops, in Devoll and Ind.

The services of the Police Stations Devoll and Pogradec, from daily field checks, have found 2 shops where pyrotechnic materials were sold. Following the actions on these cases, the materials were referred to the Prosecution Office, where the proceedings in a free state for citizens were initiated:

A. M., 56, resident in Devoll and L. B., 58, resident in The Oblast.

In the quality of the material evidence, dozens of fireworks and caps were seized that were found in these two stores.

The proceduralious materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of first instance of the General Jurisdiction of Korca, for further action.

In the implementation of the plan of measures, police services will be on enhanced alert, to ensure order and security during the festive days. Police appeal to citizens to denounce cases of illegal trade or use of pyrotechnics, guaranteeing immediate response to the punishment of responsible citizens.
