President Begaj leaves for Italy, will attend the funeral of Pope Francis

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, left today for Italy to participate in the official ceremonies that will be held in honor of Pope Francis.

Leaders of states, senior church representatives, and believers from around the world are expected to gather at the Vatican to bid farewell to the Pope, who was known as the voice of the poor and marginalized.

President Begaj will be part of the Albanian delegation that will honor the figure and spiritual legacy of the Holy Father, who for years maintained a strong stance in defense of peace, social justice, and international solidarity.
