A 33-year-old man was arrested by the police after he was reported a year ago by a 24-year-old woman for "online" harassment.

According to the police, the 33-year-old opened fake accounts on social networks, Facebook and Instagram, and constantly insulted the 24-year-old.

During the search in his apartment, the police also managed to find a "Kalashnikov" type firearm.

The operation, from the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the DVP Durrës and the Kurbin Police Station, with the support of the National Security Force Unit Shkodër, under the direction of the Durres Prosecutor's Office. 

He opened fake accounts on the social networks "Facebook" and "Instagram", through which he constantly disturbed and insulted a 24-year-old woman, as well as carrying a firearm, without a permit, the 33-year-old was caught and put in handcuffs.   

During the operation, in Fushë Mamurras, the Police found in the apartment of the 33-year-old and seized 1 Kalashnikov firearm and a quantity of military ammunition. 

After the filing of the report of a 24-year-old citizen from Durrës in 2023 on concerns continued by various falsified accounts on the social networks "Facebook" and "Instagram", the Cybercrime Investigation Directorate, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance First of the Durrës General Jurisdiction, which registered the proceedings for the criminal offense "Computer forgery", have made it possible to identify the citizen who opened these accounts on social networks, as well as provided information that this citizen was carrying a firearm without a permit. 

On the basis of the evidence provided, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës has ordered the search of the apartment of the citizen GM, suspected of opening fake accounts on social networks and of carrying weapons without a permit.  

From the control of the premises of this citizen's apartment, in Fushë Mamurras, Kurbin, the Police found and confiscated 1 Kalashnikov type firearm and 2 combs with 46 cartridges.    

At the end of the actions, the citizen GM, 33 years old, was arrested in the act.

The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Durrës General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Computer forgery".
