A 46-year-old Albanian man (father of two) was found dead in Ioannina while

A 46-year-old worker of Albanian origin has lost his life while working on a project to build a sewage network in the Shpati area, in Ioannina, Greece. 

According to Greek media, the 46-year-old father of two was working on excavations when a mass of earth collapsed and buried him.

Rescue teams and an EKAB ambulance immediately arrived at the scene. Doctors attempted to revive him through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but to no avail.

Police have arrested the person in charge of the construction site, while authorities have launched investigations to uncover the full circumstances of the accident.

A team from the Labor Inspectorate in Ioannina also went to the scene, which is investigating the causes of the incident and the respective responsibilities.
