Almost lost her life, the model recounts the difficult experience of giving

Ashley Graham recently revealed that she almost died when she gave birth to her twins in January, after losing consciousness and suffering a severe hemorrhage.

The 34-year-old model recounted the event in an essay for Glamor and revealed she was at home welcoming her boys. The Malachi and Roman twins were born in the toilet and bathtub, respectively, before she lost consciousness.

She was then treated by a team of skilled professionals, alongside husband Justin Ervin, and now remembers seeing no blood anywhere when she woke up. Graham later learned that she had lost a lot of blood.

The newborn boys were fine while Graham stayed in bed for four days in a row and could not walk for a week. She spent almost two months at home.

Graham is also the mother of another 2-year-old son, Isaac. After the first birth, she suffered an abortion. The model called the loss devastating, adding that it was one of the biggest losses she had ever had in her life.

She closed the essay by referring to herself as a "warrior" - while still "struggling" with her postpartum body image.
