The rescue operation on Jezerca mountain

After several hours of searching, it has become possible to find and extract seven tourists who were trapped on Mount Jezerca, where hours ago it was announced that a 41-year-old Croatian tourist with the initials ZI lost her life as a result of slipping on a steep terrain.

In the footage published by the Ministry of the Interior, you can see the moment when the civil emergency team finds the Croatian mountaineer dead.

The Kosovo Mountain Rescue Department also participated in the search and rescue operation.

Five of the Croatian climbers helped by the Mountain Search and Rescue Service of Kosovo are returning to their tools in the territory of Montenegro from where they had entered the Albanian territory.

While 2 other Croatian tourists were transported by helicopter to the city of Bajram Curri.

"A few hours ago, the State Police in cooperation with the Emergency Service, the Armed Forces and the Search and Rescue Department of the Republic of Kosovo were involved in a difficult operation on Jezerca mountain, to help a group of climbers who they had entered from the territory of Montenegro and were stranded at the top of Jezerca.

During the search and rescue operation, it was possible to retrieve the dead body of a citizen, who had lost her life as a result of slipping in a steep and snowy area. Five of the Croatian climbers assisted by the Mountain Search and Rescue Service of Kosovo are returning to their tools in the territory of Montenegro. Two other tourists were transported with the help of a helicopter to the city of Bajram-Curri", writes minister Taulant Balla.
