The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, spoke about the increase in oil prices and the decision-making regarding this situation.

" In recent days, we have heard proposals from business representatives on changes to the structure of fuel prices. We have analyzed whether it would be appropriate to come up with a change to the tax structure. The main reason we decided to apply the tax per liter is that in principle, our policies are based on the principle that the one who consumes more pays more.

The truth is that those cars that circulate more use more oil, environmental pollution, a car that consumes more pays less. It is a fair policy, since individuals can choose to consume less. I think it is a fair policy.

"We are not in a position to intervene in the level of taxation. As for the effects, the exchange rate has been stabilized, so what I want to guarantee is that we are in continuous monitoring, the monitoring is daily,"  said Brahimaj.
