Moments of panic and shock have passed the passengers of the plane departing from Tirana to Abu Dhabi yesterday, after the plane they were traveling in was hit by lightning in flight.

The plane was struck by lightning 10 minutes after taking off from Rinas airport.

Passengers were alerted until the plane managed to land again on the runway and the flight was delayed.

Passengers say the blast was powerful and they thought the plane made forced landings due to a defect in the engine or turbines.

" It was scary, the explosion was powerful, we did not know what to do ," said the passengers.
