Compensation for damages caused by fires during the period June 15-September 15, 2025 has begun.
The National Civil Protection Agency has made available to 10 municipalities a fund of 191.5 million lek, after completing the process of assessing and verifying the full damage.
The news was announced by the Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, who emphasizes that funds are being disbursed to support families and communities affected by the fires.
Assessments of the damage caused by the fires were carried out in each affected municipality, according to a special procedure.
The process began with field evidence from the Damage Assessment Group, established by order of the mayor of each municipality. This group recorded the damage to homes, infrastructure, businesses, agricultural crops, mechanical equipment and socio-cultural facilities, filling out forms with the relevant financial costs.
Following this step, the municipalities have compiled lists of damaged entities and accompanying documentation for financial assessment. Based on the assessment, each municipality has determined the cost of compensation.
