A British mother is appealing to her social media followers to avoid a TikTok trend that involves microwaving an egg.

Shafia Bashir, 37, suffered severe burns to her face while trying to boil an egg using a viral technique on Tik Tok.

Online instructions advised the 37-year-old to put an egg in a cup of water and then microwave it.

But after he removed the mixture from the microwave and touched the egg with a cold spoon, the egg exploded, causing severe burns to his face.

" I don't want anyone else to go through this because it's trending on TikTok.

It was the most excruciating pain of my life. It was a scary time for me and absolute agony.

I was starving, my ex-mother-in-law told me about this new method of boiling eggs. She taught me how to cook an egg in the microwave.

I filled the cup with boiling water, threw in the egg and salt and set it for a minute. It wasn't done and I put it off for another minute. After the egg exploded, I experienced 12 hours of pain in my face ", said the 37-year-old.
