Former Prime Minister of Kosovo Bujar Bukoshi
The country's Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared a message of condolence on social networks following the passing of former Kosovo Prime Minister Bujar Bukoshi.
"Rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the family and Kosovo for the loss of a good Albanian, a refined politician and a sensitive man like Bujar Bukoshi," Rama wrote.
Former Kosovo Prime Minister-in-exile, Bujar Bukoshi, passed away today at the age of 78. Bukoshi had been suffering from a serious health condition.
He was born on May 13, 1947 in Suhareka, and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade. After returning to Kosovo, he worked as a doctor in Suhareka.
Bukoshi was one of the founders of the Democratic League of Kosovo, and was also Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo in the second Thaçi cabinet from 2011 to 2014.
He was also Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Kosovo in exile from 1991 to 2000.
