A delegation from the Italian party "Fratelli d'Italia", the political force of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, visited the migrant camp in Gjadër, Lezha.
The Italian representatives spent over three hours inside this structure, observing the operation of the Repatriation Detention Center (CPR).
The delegation consisted of important names in Italian politics and senior representatives of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, among them Galeazzo Bignami and Lucio Malan.
At the end of the visit, Fratelli d'Italia MP Sara Kelany, responsible for the Immigration Department, rejected the claims of the Italian opposition and stated that the camp is functioning normally, and that to date there have been 536 migrant cases processed in the camp. "We came here to prove that these centers are currently operating at full capacity and there are subjects who have passed through them. To date, approximately 536 subjects have been repatriated, others have had their detention confirmed. We came here precisely to prove the effective functioning of the QPR in Albania", Sara Kelany, MP of "Fratelli d'Italia".
At the end of the visit, the Italian MPs will prepare a report for the Meloni government, presenting the findings on the refugee camp, which serves to house migrants who have been denied asylum in Italy and where procedures for their repatriation to their countries of origin are carried out.
