Actor Mishel Prela was arrested today after being caught driving his vehicle while intoxicated, under the influence of narcotics and without a driver's license, endangering the lives of officers who attempted to stop him after the 40-year-old was caught performing dangerous maneuvers on the road.

Some may remember Prela as the lead actor in the film "Saimir" which made him quite famous in the art world. But his name turns out to be quite well-known in the underworld as well.

It turns out that Prela was previously sentenced to prison.

In 2017, he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt near the 'Partizani' school in Tirana. Two bullets from the assassination attempt on him grazed his body, but did not endanger his life.

Investigations conducted against Prela reveal that in 2014, he raped his stepfather in the apartment where his mother also lived, claiming that the latter owed him money.

At that time, in collaboration with his friend Prela, he broke household furniture and took the television with him to sell.

Meanwhile, today, actor Mishel Prela was arrested after endangering the lives of police officers at "Willson Square".

At midnight, the 40-year-old man performed dangerous maneuvers, driving under the influence of narcotics, under the influence of alcohol and without a driver's license. He was caught at "Wilson" Square, as a result of a police pursuit.

After being signaled to stop, he increased the speed of the vehicle, performed maneuvers that were dangerous to the lives of the police officers, crashed their vehicle, and during the escort, violently opposed them.

The "Volkswagen" vehicle and a quantity of cocaine found during the search were seized.

During increased patrols over the weekend, with the objective of guaranteeing the safety of citizens and preventing criminal incidents, the services of Police Commissariat No. 2, on "Ibrahim Rugova" Street, observed a citizen performing dangerous maneuvers with the vehicle he was driving, and for this reason they issued a stop sign.

The driver of the vehicle did not obey the repeated order, but increased the speed of movement, endangered the lives of the police officers with vehicle maneuvers, and after crashing their vehicle, drove away.

The services immediately pursued him, and in cooperation with the services of the Special Force "Eagle" and with the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section, within the framework of the operation codenamed "The Call", they enabled the capture after a few minutes, at "Wilson" Square, and the arrest of the driver of the vehicle, citizen MP, 40 years old, resident of Tirana. The 40-year-old violently opposed the officers, and during the escort to the Police premises.

Further verifications revealed that he was driving the vehicle under the influence of narcotics, under the influence of alcohol and without a driving license. During the search in the vehicle, a quantity of suspected cocaine was found and seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
