Another Call Center group that was deceiving foreign citizens with the aim of illegally gaining monetary sums through investing in fictitious stock exchanges has been cracked down on by the police.

This time, the Economic Crime Unit landed in an apartment on "Sulejman Delvina" street in the capital, catching the two administrators  Argest Rushi  and  Leonard Maksutaj red-handed.

12 operators were placed under investigation at large. From this operation, 19 computer units, 2 mobile phones and 1 DVR were found and seized.

Police announcement:

Another case of international fraud through fictitious scholarships is being investigated.

An apartment converted into a call center is discovered during the police operation codenamed " Facade " .

Operation by the Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Sector at the Tirana Police Department.

Two citizens were arrested who managed a call center environment, through which they deceived foreign citizens into investing in fictitious stock exchanges.

12 citizens (operators) are being processed at large.

19 computer units, 2 mobile phones and 1 DVR were seized.

Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the Tirana Police Department, following recently obtained information, have successfully organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Fasada".

During the operation, the Police services intervened in the apartment on "Sulejman Delvina" street, which had been adapted as a call center, where they caught citizens AR and LM, as well as 12 operators, who were deceiving foreign citizens into investing in fictitious stock exchanges.

The investigation revealed that the apartment was rented by citizen AR, who, in collaboration with citizen LM, managed this premises for the purpose of carrying out this illegal activity.

At the conclusion of the first investigative actions, citizens AR, 44 years old, and LM, 26 years old, environmental administrators, were arrested.

As well as criminal proceedings against 12 citizens, operators, who were caught red-handed in the apartment, during the intervention by the Police.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue for the full legal documentation of this illegal activity.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

The State Police remains determined to crack down on every form of crime, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, as well as to protect citizens, both at home and abroad.
