The socialist mayor of Devoll, Eduard Duro, appeared today at the Criminal Court where a preliminary hearing will be held.

Eduard Duros, the former Bilisht Commanded Administrator, Vojsava Bregu, and 3 Devoll Municipality officials are charged with abuse of office, as according to SPAK, they illegally licensed a gas station in Bilisht that did not have a permit and for which IKMT had decided that it would be demolished.

In addition to Duro and Bregu, two officials from the Revenue and Licensing Sector in the Devoll Municipality, Gazmend Haxhija and Gazmend Malo, and the general secretary Astrit Seferkolli, were also sent for trial.

This is about the "Genci Petrol" gas station, which, according to SPAK, has made unfair profits since 2015, when it obtained its license in violation of the law.

Vojsava Bregu, in her capacity as the commanding administrator of the Bilisht Center Administrative Unit, is accused of granting a permit on August 27, 2015, for the activity of trading fuel.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, this permit was granted in violation of the law, as the company "Genci Petrol" did not have the necessary documentation, including the construction control act, the usage permit and the authorization for entry and exit on the road from the Albanian Road Authority.

Meanwhile, SPAK says that Eduard Duro, in his capacity as mayor of Devoll Municipality, in collaboration with Astrit Seferkolli (Secretary General of Devoll Municipality), Gazmend Haxhije and Gazmend Malo (officials of the Revenue and Licensing Sector), licensed the gas station in violation of the law even though it did not meet the criteria.

For this object, the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection had decided to demolish it in 2019, due to non-compliance with legal criteria.
