KPA finally leaves the two judges of Shkodra and Elbasan out of justice

The Special Appeals Chamber has upheld two dismissals from office, that of judges Taulant Tafa and Izabela Radovani, decided by the Independent Qualification Commission.

The decision to uphold the dismissal of Elbasan Court judge Taulant Tafa was taken by the KPA panel, composed of Albana Shtylla as presiding judge, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Ina Rama, Mimoza Tasi, and Rezarta Schuetz as members.

'At the end of the trial in the consulting room, the trial panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter "a" of Law No. 84/2016, "On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania", unanimously decided: Leaving in force decision No. 649, dated 24.04.2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission, which concerns the subject of the re-evaluation Taulant Tafa. This decision is final and has immediate effect,' the KPA announcement states.

The KPA has also upheld the dismissal of Izabela Radovani, judge of the Shkodra Court.

'The adjudicatory panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Ina Rama as chairperson, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Natasha Mulaj, Rezarta Schuetz as members, announced the decision on case no. 34/2023, dated 20.07.2023, which concerns the appeal of the reassessment subject Izabela Radovani against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 647, dated 14.04.2023.

At the end of the trial in the consulting room, the panel, based on article 66, point 1, letter "a" of law no. 84/2016, "On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania", unanimously decided: Upholding decision no. 647, dated 14.04.2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the subject of the re-evaluation Izabela Radovani. This decision is final and has immediate effect,' the announcement states.

The Independent Qualification Commission, on April 14, 2023, dismissed the Judge of the Shkodra Court, Izabela Radovani. Radovani provided explanations for the discrepancies in the declaration of assets, the financial shortcomings for their creation, as well as for the transactions for an apartment, carried out in her name. Izabela Radovani began her career in the judicial system as an assistant judge in 1996 and in 2000 was appointed a judge in Shkodra, where she worked for more than two decades.
