Property conflict, 93-year-old man injures 61-year-old cousin in Gjirokastra

A gunshot wound occurred this Sunday morning in Gjirokastra.

The incident occurred at around 09:40, in the village of Mashkullorë, where it is suspected that due to ongoing conflicts over property rights, citizen Astrit Çani, 93 years old, allegedly shot and wounded citizen Pëllumb Çani, 61 years old, in the leg, who is in hospital, out of danger.

Citizen Astrit Çani was escorted to the premises of the Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate for further action. The Kalashnikov firearm was also found and seized.

It is learned that the two people are cousins.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of this event.
