The Electoral College has rejected the Democratic Party's lawsuit, which sought the annulment of the decision of the State Administration Commission (KAS) on the counting of votes received from Greece.

The DP had opposed allowing the counting of diaspora votes from Greece, considering this a violation of procedures, as according to them, they had identified problems in the manner of their delivery and subsequent tracking in Albania.

The Electoral College, after reviewing the request, has deemed the DP's request invalid, thus confirming the validity of Greece's vote count.

Earlier, Ilirjan Celibashi, head of the CEC, ordered the counting of 53,000 envelopes, as verifications found no irregularities in the process and boxes, so it is a legal obligation to count and evaluate every vote and every envelope found in these boxes.

"The State Election Commission decides on the continuation and completion of the counting and evaluation of each electoral documentation of voters from abroad who have come to the CEC, as well as the tabulation of the relevant results for the electoral subjects, candidates who have been subject to voting for each district. This order also includes envelopes that have not been reviewed and have been administered according to the decision of the State Election Commission no. 1121, dated 12.05.2025. This decision enters into force immediately", said Celibashi.
