Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

During his speech at the European summit in Tirana, Erdogan said that the world is at a critical moment and therefore Western leaders must stand united.

"We are at a critical moment for the guns to fall silent and peace to be established in Ukraine. Today, as in the past, everyone is contributing to achieving a ceasefire," said the Turkish president.

Erdogan: I would like to thank my dear friend Edi Rama and all those who have contributed to this summit.

It is important that we act together. To overcome the crisis of confidence in the international arena, it is necessary to create the right architecture.

In these critical times when we discuss the future of European security, the EU's efforts to develop its defense industry are useful. We believe that these efforts should also include allies who are not EU members. This would be in the interest of European security.

We need to consult on steps that guarantee our economic security.
