Cardiologist Edvin Prifti was named as a defendant, after allegedly being paid for 7 cardiac interventions.

Renowned doctor Prifti is accused by SPAK of " passive corruption " in 7 cases, " theft committed by abuse of office ", " hiding income" and " money laundering ".

Immediately after this, the doctor posted a status on Facebook where he wrote: Everyone should do good and should do what they know. Today I am officially a defendant after an ordeal of over 5 years of investigations, disappearance of evidence and files, as well as manipulations. Today, the preliminary hearing of the GJKKO, after two years, made the decision to take me to trial. It is not that I had any illusions about the decision. A summary trial was suggested to me and this was categorically rejected by me, being ready to face every fact and argument. Under these conditions, I invite all my patients, that anyone who feels it, can come to court to testify who I am?!

Anyway, after the marathon session that lasted two years, and the session was only 5 minutes, I returned to the operating room at the QSUT, where I had just successfully completed the next surgery on the IT patient.

Meanwhile, last night, together with Dr. Bledar Hodo, Dr. Sci. Merita Zeka and Dr. Blerim Arapi, we performed one of the most complex surgeries on a 38-year-old patient, operated on 8 months ago by colleagues with aortic valve replacement, who presented with detachment of the valve prosthesis, heart abscess, and massive heart failure with edema and fluid in the abdomen. After adequate treatment in intensive therapy, elimination of over 20 liters of accumulated water in the body, the patient underwent a second surgery lasting over 8 hours, which consisted of closing a giant abnormal chamber in the heart, created by the abscess, and replacing the aortic valve. The patient is extubated today and in very good condition.

Despite the courts and prosecutors, it was a successful day. Even though the latter have fate in their hands and can ruin a person's life, no one can separate me from the happiness when we save one more life!
