"'White collar' corruption has evolved", candidate for HEAD of SPAK: Organized crime has infiltrated the economy and decision-making!

The candidate for the leadership of SPAK, prosecutor Elvin Gokaj , during the presentation of his platform, emphasized that the leadership of the Special Prosecution Office should be based on efficiency, cooperation and a focus on quality investigations.

He stated that every prosecutor should focus on investigation and prosecution, having full confidence in the professional skills of support staff.

Gokaj underlined that his leadership strategy will focus on several key steps, the first of which is directly related to the policy of combating organized crime and corruption.

He also added that corruption, especially the so-called "white collar" one, has experienced rapid development and requires new investigative approaches.

" Every prosecutor must focus on investigation and prosecution while having confidence in the capabilities of their support staff. My leadership strategy will focus on these steps:

The first step is related to the policy against organized crime and corruption. Organized crime represents one of the most serious threats. It has passed the stages of traditional operation, evolving towards infiltration of the economy, money laundering and influence on public decision-making.

"Even ' white collar ' corruption has evolved at a rapid pace and it is necessary not only to crack down on the corrupt act, but also to confiscate the products derived from corrupt crimes ," said the prosecutor.
