A 64-year-old man who was defrauding citizens and taking money from them has been placed in handcuffs by Tirana police.

According to the Blues' announcement, the arrested perpetrator posed as a friend of their child who lived abroad in front of the people he was deceiving.

Through this fraud scheme, he demanded 500 to 1,000 euros from the ' victims ' he had fallen prey to.

"Crime Investigation Specialists at Police Station No. 1, as a result of investigations conducted with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "The friend". Within the framework of this operation, the arrest of the citizen: SL, 64 years old, resident of Tirana was made. The investigations resulted in the fact that this citizen, through fraud, benefited from various amounts of money, from 500-1000 euros, from various citizens, by presenting himself as a friend of their children, who lived abroad", the police informed today.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions.
