A 23-year-old man has been arrested by the Tirana Police after, despite being under house arrest, he left his apartment and is suspected of committing thefts in five businesses during the period August 14-22.

According to the Police, the young man with the initials KM was arrested as part of the operation codenamed "HIJA" by the services of the Police Commissariat No. 1. During his arrest, in "Skënderbej" Square, a quantity of the suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa was also found and seized.

Security camera footage from one of the robbed businesses shows the moment the masked suspect opens both cash registers, fills the bags with products and money, and then leaves through the same door, which, although it appears closed, opens wide enough for him to slither through it like a snake with the full bag.
