Nivica, a village of Kurveles, is known for its canyons, which are visited by thousands of tourists every year. As part of the project of 100 villages to be revitalized by the Albanian government, an investment of 500 million lek was made.

With these lek, three buildings were built as service units in 2017, but they were never put into operation. To this day, they are destroyed by atmospheric conditions, requiring additional funds to repair them.

Fiksi saw closely the condition of the center of the village of Nivicë and the conditions in which these buildings are. The residents themselves claim that they were built a few years ago and were left like that, along with these buildings, some facades were also fixed. It has been this situation for three or four years. "What they say is of no interest, what you say is private... words are words. It would be good to arrange that people would be put to work, tourists will come more..." says one of the residents.

Fiksi also asked the Tepelena Municipality about the current condition of these buildings, which have not been used since their construction. The councilor of the mayor Mr. Aleksandër Toti says that the investment was made in the framework of the revitalization of the center of Nivica, in the framework of the 100 villages project, and specifically by the National Coastal Agency in 2018.

It is about public and private space and it cost 500 thousand euros. "The buildings were handed over to the Tepelena Municipality 6-7 months ago and this has affected their depreciation," asserts Mr. Toti. He adds that in recent years Nivica is in the trend of tourist villages most visited by tourists "if individuals or private businesses will express interest, they will be rented out," he says. Adding that before this happens it will be necessary to intervene in their repair.

Fiksi also addressed the National Coastal Agency, which in its official response affirms that the investment worth 47,071,276 Lek has been made for the creation of tourist infrastructure between the coastal and mountainous areas, specifically the revitalization of the center of the village of Nivicë and the reconstruction of the old school in Nivica, realized during the period 2016-2017.

The National Coastal Agency has financed only the first phase of investments in this area, while the further development of the project will be evaluated by the Tepelen Municipality, as an administrative institution of the area, based on the delivery of the project that was made by internal order. for the free capital transfer of 2 (two) projects, investments carried out by the National Coastal Agency in the Tepelene Municipality, from the inventory of the National Coastal Agency (AKB), to the inventory of the Tepelene Municipality. At the time of delivery of the project, amortization was also taken into account, it is said in the answer, submitting to the Municipality of Tepelena and the accounting value of the project.

But in no line of the answer, the National Coastal Agency does not explain why it took so many years to pass Tepelena to the Municipality. What is understood is that once again the Albanians' taxes will be used to pay for the repair of buildings and this for state bureaucracies and institutions.
