A married couple have been arrested by the Kolonja police for cultivating narcotics.

According to the Police report, the couple is suspected of cultivating 270 cannabis plants near their home in the village of Gjirakare.

During the search of their apartment, two bags of suspected narcotic plants in the process of drying were also found.

Meanwhile, the plants were destroyed, while the procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

Kolonjë/After several weeks of investigations using proactive methods, the operation codenamed "Partners" to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics is being finalized.

Two citizens (husband and wife) were arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of cultivating 270 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants, near their residence, in the village of Gjirakare.

2 bags of suspected narcotics, Cannabis Sativa (cut plants, in the process of drying, which were found in their apartment) were seized.

As a result of investigations conducted for several weeks, with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, into a case of criminal activity in the field of narcotics, the services of the Kolonjë Police Commissariat finalized the operation codenamed "Partners".

During the operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

-LV, 64 years old and AV, 54 years old (spouses), residents of the village of Gjirakare.

Investigations suspect that these citizens cultivated 270 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants in a wooded area near their residence, which were destroyed by burning.

During the search of their apartment, 2 bags of suspected narcotics, Cannabis Sativa (cut plants, in the process of drying), were found, which were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action.
