Other details have been made public regarding the assassination attempt the night before in Lezha , where 30-year-old Sokol Daci , owner of a barbershop, was wounded by a hail of bullets .

Investigations so far show that the 30-year-old was not the target of the attack, while there were 4 other people in the barbershop, including Merando Nikulaj , the nephew of Ardian Nikulaj, who is suspected of having been the target of the assassination.

Up until now, Nikulaj has not been able to be escorted for questioning, while the police are conducting searches in several businesses and homes to escort and question him.

There are strong suspicions that 21-year-old Merando Nikulaj may have been injured, because as he left, he was shown on security cameras walking with difficulty.

How did the murder of Ardian Nikulaj happen?

It was April 2023, when Ardian Nikulaj was sitting inside his bar, when Portuguese man Ruben Saraiva, wearing a diving suit, allegedly entered and shot him several times with a pistol, leaving him dead on the spot.

The person suspected of ordering this murder is  Edmond Haxhia , who, in collaboration with foreign citizens, watched Nikulaj in the hotel for days to time the moment of execution.

After the incident, some of the killers fled Rinas and others overland to Greece, but were soon arrested one by one.
