Albania has begun efforts to extradite one Albanian and three Britons from England on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Ardian Nikulaj.
They are Edmond Haxhia, Steven Hunt, Thomas Mithan and Harriet Bridgeman, while Harry Simpson and Ruben Saraiva are on the run.
In 2007, Albania failed to extradite from England Pjeter Lekstaj from the Lekstakaj family in a blood feud with the Nikulaj family.
The "Nikulaj" file with 300 pages translated in record time by the Ministry of Justice, together with a letter of guarantee for a fair trial, signed by Minister Ulsi Manja, has arrived at the court in London.
The request for extradition from England, of an Albanian and three Englishmen suspected of being involved in the murder of Ardian Nikulaj, is the second time for the requesting Albanian state to extradite persons involved in a conflict dating back to 1997 between the Lekstakaj and Nikulaj families. .
This person in this photo provided by Tch, is Pjetër Lekstaj. In 2007, he would be arrested in the city of Birmingham for the purpose of extradition to Albania. Pjeter Lekstakaj attended the court hearings of extradition in free condition due to his health condition.

Nine years after this extradition process in London, Eltoni's son Pjeter Lekstakaj would send a request to the chief prosecutor of Lezha, to receive the status of a protected witness, coming to Albania together with his father Pjeter and mother to testify.
They wanted to file their evidence for the murder of Gëzim Lekstakaj and Laurent Gjetja on 28.09.1997 together with that of Gjovalin Lekstakaj on 30.09.1999 where Pjetër Lekstakaj was injured. This was never realized.
If Pjetër Lekstakaj were to be extradited from England to Albania and if his son's testimony would be taken, and then Albanian justice would act, then a break in the chain of blood feud would be achieved. And in all likelihood this would serve to prevent Ardian Nikulaj from taking his own life based on the laws of the canon, as suspected so far./Tch
