Invited to a2 , the journalist Stavri Marko made a strong statement, where he stated that a new Greek party is expected to be created in Albania.

According to Markos, the creation of this party, even though it is only an idea at the moment, would gather the entire Greek community living in Himara and not only, in one party to represent them in the Albanian parliament.

"I don't believe that Mr. Tavo would go as far as going to Himare, a concept about the Greek minority in Albania would be dismantled.

We are dealing with hundreds of thousands, as far as I know, Greek citizens, who constitute a considerable force, and I believe that the Greek tactics will now be used, they will make a gathering of Greek citizens. Those who are obliged to comply with the laws of the Greek state.

I think that there will be a new movement for the unification of the Greek factor, of the Greek minority in Albania. To some extent we will have a new formation, perhaps a new party, made up of the Greek community, something that has been discussed years ago.

We'll probably have a lot more new stuff as I see it, because we're seeing the Greek factor weaken. As are the Albanian political parties in Macedonia, Montenegro, or as are the Serbian parties in Kosovo. Greece has maintained Omonia, which was a political organization, not a party, thus maintaining low levels of representation in the Albanian parliament.

Greece always boasted that it has representatives from one party to another and a strategy is already being built that citizens who are members of the Greek community, perhaps to protect their territory, their property as is happening in Himara, will group politically as the only way to have a dignified representation in the Albanian parliament.
