A complaint by a grandmother in Durrës, that her ex-daughter-in-law had left her 3 minor children alone in the building where she lived, has alerted state authorities. The 3 minor children were found alone inside the apartment, in unhygienic conditions, and were taken to the hospital for examinations after, as sources tell Report TV, they had not eaten for 3 days.

The 33-year-old was divorced and has long been suspected of having a conflict with her ex-mother-in-law over child custody. Now, as sources explain to Report TV, the authorities are expected to remove the 33-year-old's custody of the minors, but there has been no official statement from the Social Services yet.

The children had not been to school for 1 month. After examinations carried out at the Durrës hospital, where the 3 children are being held with their mother, it turned out that they are infected with scabies. It is learned that the 3 children are isolated in a separate room with their mother in order to contaminate the premises and spread to the children in the pediatric ward. The mother claims that she kept the children isolated in the apartment because they were infected with scabies and that the school was also aware of the 1-month absence from school.

The 33-year-old had been living in a rented apartment in Durres for three months where the three children were found and worked as a bartender in the coastal city of Durres. She claims that she kept the children in the apartment alone, as she had to work to earn an income and that she is currently only paid 40 thousand lek.

One of the children, 10 years old, is also said to have stated that her mother did not leave them alone, but would come and go. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old mother in her testimony claimed that this was a trap set by her ex-mother-in-law, who she claims has accused her of abandoning the children. She says that she is forced to leave them alone while she works, because they have no income and that the father only pays 18 thousand lek per month.

" I work as a bartender and I leave my three children with me when I go to work. I get paid 400 thousand a month and I pay 300 thousand in rent. It is impossible for me to stay with the children, because I have no income with which to pay the rent and feed them. This is a trap from my ex-mother-in-law, who has accused me of abandoning the children. How can I do this when I myself work?

He entered my house without permission, he taught the children to speak badly of me. I don't know, but this is intolerable: how can he come to my house without permission and report me to the police? I will protect the children, because the children's father has been in prison in Italy for 5 years. He got out of prison and paid 180 thousand old lek for the children. How can I feed the children with 180 thousand old lek a month? ", the mother testified.

Meanwhile, the children's grandmother yesterday released a video from inside the apartment, where the three minors are seen sitting on the bed, while she claims they were abandoned by their mother. The video also shows the unhygienic conditions in which the children live, with the apartment covered in garbage and clothes.
