The MEP who came to Tirana to protest: Here's who is behind the project for

Italian MEP Ilaria Salis stated that her participation in the protest held in Tirana against the proposed project for the Sazan and Narta area was intended to express support for the cause of environmental protection and democracy.

Salis told Aq that the protest, according to her, was not only an environmental movement, but also a civic mobilization for democracy and sovereignty.

"I came to Tirana to support the Albanian people, because this is a protest for the environment, but also for democracy and the sovereignty of the people.

"The message of the protesters is that Albania is not for sale and no one can come from abroad to buy territory of the Republic of Albania," Salis said.

" We think that those behind this project in the Narta Lagoon, in Zvërnec, are the same ones who have carried out invasions in various countries in the past."

"We oppose this imperialist logic. We are against these methods of development ," Salis said.
